Samosa Chaat is a very delicious and specially made spicy dish by mixing crushed samosas with a mixture of chutney, crunchy toppings and creamy curd. It is a popular street food known for its perfect balance of flavours and textures crispy, tangy, spicy and creamy, all at once to eat. Although it is a staple dish at roadside shops in India, the good news is that making samosa chaat at home is surprisingly easy and equally satisfying.

- Samosas (store-bought or homemade)
- Boiled chickpeas or potatoes (optional for added texture)

Chana masala
Prepare the chana masala ( chickpea)
- Rinse the dried chickpea pieces and let them soak in water for 7 to 8 hours or for the sleeping night. Carefully clean and rinse the day after.
- Heat oil and add carom seed in a pressure cooker, Let them burst.
- Once fry the onions then add the ginger and garlic paste. Cook till the raw smell disappears.
- Add tomatoes, red chilli, turmeric, and coriander powder and mix. Cook until the mixture becomes soft and starts releasing oil along the edges.
- Add the slit green chilies and chickpeas. Cover or coat them well with the spices.
- Add salt and water. Cook for 12-14 minutes on medium flame.
- check whether the chick peas are soft. If not then, you can cook for a few more minutes.
- When the chickpeas are soft, mash a few chickpeas to thicken the gravy a bit. Add dry mango powder and garam masala ( hot spice mixture ) mixing well. Simmer until the gravy reaches a medium-thick consistency.
Assemble the samosa chaat
1. Warm the Samosas
Warm the samosas in a microwave, oven, or pan
2. Prepare the base
Spread a layer of hot chana masala on a plate.
3. Add samosa
Break a samosa into smaller pieces and place it over the curry.
4. Add chutneys
Drizzle green chutney, tamarind-date chutney, and, if desired, chili-garlic chutney. Adjust the amount to your taste.
5. Garnish
Garnish with chopped onions, coriander leaves, and a touch of chat masala.
6. Final touches
Squeeze fresh lemon juice on top and sprinkle sev for crunch.
